Natal Chart for Year of the Black Water Snake

Who said I was traditional. I like to breathe fresh prana into old concepts and see what materializes. Studying the non-traditional, self-designed horary chart for the commencement of Year of the Black Water Snake, one of the most interesting configurations I see are two interlocking obtuse triangles. From the perspective of the ASC and the IC: Obtuse Triangle One is comprised of Saturn sextile Pluto sextile Mars, Mercury and Chiron. Obtuse Triangle Two is constructed by Venus sextile Uranus sextile Jupiter.   Notice how the two triangles form a bowl stting right at the bottom of the Aquarian-Pisces ocean floor.  <The plot thickens> Saturn at the same respective point as Venus forms a square, as does Pluto squaring Uranus at their respective points. Have I lost you? Just wait---it looks as though Saturn and Venus are playing the role of PREDATOR. While, Pluto and Uranus could very well be the BETRAYER. Interesting----betrayer and predator themes. Sound familiar?

 

The cosmic planetary pile-up in Pisces at the onset of this new year signifies "black water" in the telluric realm, meaning further oceanic crises (Neptune in Pisces).  The polluted waters of the deep individual/collective unconscious are riddled with unprocessed shadow vestiges seeking the purification act, integrating the dark recesses of the psyche at the expanding, accelerating speed of light (Chiron in Pisces).  The concrete representation of reality constructs (Pluto in Capricorn) that have become too confining, much too small for enlightened minds (Uranus in Aries) to behold and be held by are still dismantling.  From the sidelines, Saturn in transformational Scorpio is overseeing the soul alchemy process with a stern hand ensuring everyone gets with the program. 

 

Of course, it's not easy. That's why not everyone will be up for the ordeal. There will be sorrow, heartbreak, tightening the reins, why all those needful things that are inherent within evolutionary syntheses.  The price tag for the rewards dawning on the horizon are tremendous.  However---"To whom much is given, much is required."

I don't want to be a SPOILER. However, it looks like the narrative surrounds the protection of water as the root of ALL living processes. Period. Next, if we're ever to survive, we need to shed the skin of an aggrandized display of power by adopting a more compassionate social concern for the less evolved. There must be a combined effort to preserve meaningful archetypes in our existing cultures without destroying obstacles. Maintaining an aggressive relationship to the natural world will kill us all. 

 

 

With that said:

 

 

Happy New Year of the Black Water Snake!   May this be the year aggression, dominance and territoriality, those lower instinctual motivations associated with the reptilian brain, are quickened into a refined enlightenment. Could it be the much feared, maligned biblical serpent is an admonishing symbolic embodiment of the writhing negative attributes above?   Thus, may we demonstrate the empowerment of "to thine own self be true" by being a virtuous paragon while relinquishing sense of entitlement through a compassionate social concern for the less evolved.   May we summon the nascent humanity that has been stored away in our muscles, bones, fascia, DNA, pineal whereby birthing a new biopsychic, liquid-light body race.   May this herald a new world emerging.   Even if it's just a high-minded thought for now, may we envision a world where there is cooperation with the natural beauty and cycles of Gaia, without borders, where everyone is an egalitarian philosopher regent upholding the apotheosis of LOGOS, ETHOS, PATHOS.

During one of Manhattan's notorious heat waves (you don't know what hot is until you've experienced one of these without AC)---it must've been the summer of 1988. It was late afternoon. I left the office early that day,... venturing home for a quick disco nap in the sweltering sauna cooled by an ice pack, wind-blown by Santa Ana type breezes from a large oscillating fan.

I drifted off, lulled to sleep by the calming purr of the fan. As I lay dying in the heat, I had the most peculiar out of body experience. There at the foot of my bed, an out of focus apparition appeared. I wasn't alarmed. However, I focused my gaze upon the figure until it became clear that what I was seeing was a hologrammic representation of my future self. The recognition was immediate these were indeed my features at a later time than the present, then. Yet, there I was standing taller, more fit and robust than before.

As if summoned, this astral doppelganger began to move out of my bedroom, down the hall into the kitchen. As strange as this may seem, I floated buoyantly along behind him---or, rather me. Suddenly, without a hostile takeover, the hologram of my future self "walked-in" to my body as it was at that moment in time. I looked out the kitchen window through the perceptive comprehension of the future-self-doppelganger. Another apparition appeared. This one was dressed in a drab-olive monk's cowl, face covered concealing identification. The spectre extended an open palm as if to shake my hand. Like a bubbling well-spring, money began erupting from the center of the hand extended, flowing into my own.



 

Motivational Shadows Conceal Suspicious Attractions

Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn are in mutual reception, though their relationship is anything but tidy and pristine. Saturn in Pluto's Scorpio domain is being the placeholder for hard lessons learned, a regeneration process through suffering. Even in the best of times, Saturn has a way of getting all up in the face with negative traits that are holding one back from reaching one's highest potential, especially if those self-destructive habits have something to do with the seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. One doesn't have to peer through binoculars to witness glaring examples of each theme ennacted in the daily news.


Pluto in Saturn's Capricorn realm is in a desist and deconstruct mode. He is implementing his "snaking" utensils, plunging the heaping piles of dirty laundry, pulling out what's been soiled by the putrid cesspool backup, hanging it out on the clothesline for all to see. As unpleasant as it might be, the sad truth is, much of society's corporate, religio-politico contructs have been built upon cornerstones of corruption, the prior-stated cardinal infractions designed as insidious mortar. We are witnesses to another inconvenient truth that all the kings horses and all the king's men can't help the little Dutch boy plug the dam, nor can they put Humpty Dumpty back together again. (Pluto likes to work his magic with a slow hand, too. So, get as comfortable as possible and enjoy.)

 
Concurrently, there is a major pile-up on the cosmic freeway with Mars, Venus, Neptune, Chiron and now Mercury congregating in Pisces. Each comes bearing a torch to help illuminate those items we would probably like better left hidden in the cellar. Yet, in order for there to be healing, the pustulant wound has to be lanced. 
 

Pardon the mixed metaphors, however, motivational shadows conceal suspicious attractions. Why do we glamorize violence, greed and lurid sex? What is it about the allure of vampiric seduction of purity and innocence that holds our captive attention?
 

Will we be able to see and recognize our reflection in the mirror of unfolding events?
